About us

We empower people in Grants Pass and Josephine County through the Ramp and Homeowner Programs.

Mission

Putting God's love into action, Grants Pass Area Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

Vision

To create a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Who we are

Grants Pass Area Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1992 when community members came together to build affordable housing with eligible families in Josephine County. In April 1993, Grants Pass Area Habitat for Humanity became an official affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and received our 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation designation in July 1993. Over the past 29 years, we've built 23 affordable homes in partnership with families and community members.

Equity Statement

Grants Pass Area Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. In July 2023, a group of Grants Pass Area Habitat for Humanity board members came together to have some important and difficult conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion. In our dedication to diversity, we celebrate, represent and value the differences of those we work with and serve our community. In our drive for equity, we create processes and practices that ensure everyone involved gets what they need to achieve greater access and fairness in treatment and outcomes. And in our practice of inclusion, we commit to seeing and hearing all those we work with and serve by including the voices and needs of our diverse workforce, communities and residents to build hope and transform lives.

In our shared humanity we are committed to building a culture where everybody is treated with dignity and respect and feels accepted and safe.  Our shared vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live and the opportunity for a better future.

Our Values:

  • Humility
  • Courage
  • Accountability

Grants Pass Area Habitat for Humanity is committed to creating an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging and ownership as we focus on building homes to create stability and prosperity for our fellow community members regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or religion.  In doing so, we will practice humility, demonstrate courage in our commitment and ensure we hold ourselves (board, staff and volunteers) accountable for accomplishing this work.

Non-proselytizing

Grants Pass Area Habitat for Humanity will not proselytize, nor will we work with entities or individuals who insist on proselytizing as part of their work with Grants Pass Area Habitat for Humanity. We will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people (i) adhere or convert to a particular faith or (ii) listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
